Thunaivan History
Thunaivan released the first Tamil Wordprocessor in Malaysia in 1986. Together with this wordprocessor, Thunaivan introduced the first "Tamil Phonetic Keyboard" in Singapore and Malaysia. The introduction of this new Tamil Keyboard Input System led to the subsequent popularity and development of other phonetic keyboard layouts including Kanian and Tamil99.
For the past 21 years, Thunaivan has been actively developing and marketing Tamil language software for the Indian education and commercial sector in Malaysia and Singapore. With thousands of users in Malaysia and Singapore, Thunavian continues to develop new and innovative Tamil software to support local and international Indians.
Thunaivan supports all standard Tamil Keyboard layouts including Tamil99, Typewriter and other non-standard layouts including Romanised, Thunaivan, Mylai, IE and many others. Thunaivan also fully supports all Tamil Font Encoding Standards including TSCII, TAM, TAB and Unicode. Tamil Software Milestones and Achievements
FutureFor the last 20 years Tamil software development has centered around word processing and desktop publishing applications. There are several software currently catering to this market. Although, Thunaivan still has a significant presence in this market, future development will concentrate on producing Tamil Database applications using Thunaivan’s proprietary database engine. |
